The Kumasi High Court has issued a landmark ruling in the long-standing debate over the marital status of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba.
The court confirmed that both Odo Broni, legally known as Priscilla Ofori Atta, and Akosua Serwaa Fosuh are recognised as his legitimate spouses.
The decision resolves months of legal wrangling and public discussion over who should perform the widowhood rites, who controls Daddy Lumba’s estate, and who is officially entitled to the title of widow.
In explaining its judgment, the court highlighted that Akosua Serwaa failed to present original documentation to prove a civil marriage with the musician. “What was submitted were extracts, not a certified and authentic marriage certificate,” Myjoyonline reported.
