Papa Shee has doubled down on his long-held claim that the widely announced December 13, 2025, funeral for the late Daddy Lumba will not take place. His comments followed the Kumasi High Court ruling that dismissed Akosua Serwaa Fosu’s suit and declared both her and Odo Broni as surviving spouses of the highlife legend.
Moments after the judgment, Papa Shee was seen engaging a group of bloggers and journalists while heading toward his vehicle. He began by responding to remarks the court made about the marriage documents from Germany, which had become central to the case.
He insisted that the German Embassy does not issue fake paperwork and dismissed any indication, implied or otherwise, that the marriage between Daddy Lumba and Akosua Serwaa Fosu relied on forged documentation.
Papa Shee added that the family plans to pursue an appeal, arguing that some key matters remain unsettled and must be clarified.
He maintained that the funeral cannot take place on December 13 because, in his view, certain essential issues must be resolved before the family proceeds with burial arrangements. He further noted that a new date has already been agreed upon.
According to him, the musician’s uncle, Wofa Yaw Poku, his sister, Ernestina Fosu, and some of his children have collectively settled on March 14, 2026, as the date for Daddy Lumba’s funeral.
