Prophet Prince Osei has given a fresh account of why his marriage to gospel singer Empress Gifty collapsed.
In a video shared on Instagram, he explained that the foundation of their union weakened over time because both partners struggled with communication. Osei said the breakdown became more obvious in hindsight, noting that better communication skills might have altered the direction of their marriage.
He added that the experience taught him that prayer alone cannot hold a marriage together, so he has since focused on improving how he relates to others.
“Prayer alone cannot sustain a marriage because there are a lot of factors involved. Also, what I have learned so far about marriage is that good communication is crucial.
“Faithfulness alone cannot sustain a marriage. Even if you want to have an affair with your wife, it all boils down to communication,” he said.
Prophet Osei also reflected on the early days of their relationship, recounting how they first met when Empress Gifty was still working as a seamstress.
“When I met her, she was a designer at Tema Community 1. When I saw her, I knew music would open a lot of opportunities for her because she had a good voice.
“Her brother introduced her to me. She wasn’t even a church member, but her brother pushed her to my church,” Prophet Prince Osei stated.
