Prophet Kofi Oduro has waded into the ongoing tensions within the late Daddy Lumba’s family. He called for an immediate end to the dispute that has spilled into the public domain.
The General Overseer of Alabaster International Ministry addressed the issue while preaching, after a video of him speaking surfaced on social media.
During his sermon, Prophet Oduro appealed directly to the grieving family, insisting that the late musician’s legacy should be the priority rather than internal conflict. He reminded them of Daddy Lumba’s contributions to Ghanaian music and said the current disagreements dishonour his memory.
“Stop it, because the person who has died doesn’t deserve such embarrassment. Let’s honour his (Lumba’s) memory and put aside all these stupid fights. We shouldn’t fight and later go and sit in church as if nothing has happened,” he posited.
Prophet Oduro further recounted a personal experience from the passing of his own father. He explained that similar tensions arose within his family and that he intervened to prevent the situation from escalating.
“During the burial ceremony, the same fight wanted to happen. During the planning of the funeral, some of my siblings wanted to fight over my father’s body.
“…I took charge and told them I was taking over, and made everyone shut up. I took their money and still went ahead to bury him, and they all fell in line,” he added.
His statement was on the heels of disagreements between Daddy Lumba’s elder sister and the family head that continue to attract widespread attention, raising concerns among admirers of the late music legend.
