Manhyia Palace Declares Total Detachment from Daddy Lumba Funeral Disputes

Daddy Lumba

As debates over Daddy Lumba’s final rites continue to intensify, the Manhyia Palace has issued a clear public reminder that it has no hand in the disagreements shaping the late musician’s funeral preparations.

In a notice aired on Opemsuo Radio on December 11, 2025, the Palace urged the public to disregard any claim linking it to the ongoing disputes within the Fosu family. The message cited the growing friction involving Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, Ernestina Fosua, and the musician’s spouses as matters that should not be associated with Manhyia.

The statement emphasised that the Palace is not part of the decisions concerning the funeral.

“Manhyia urges the general public to disregard any reports attempting to associate the Palace with matters concerning the preparations for the burial and funeral rites of Mr. Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba,” the disclaimer read.

The Palace’s intervention follows weeks of public arguments among the late singer’s relatives. Disputes over autopsy findings, the confirmed burial date, the execution of widowhood rites, and other arrangements have played out across various platforms and become a national talking point.

Beyond the legal petitions, portions of the family also placed the matter before the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, after Ernestina Fosua invoked Otumfuo’s Ntam Kese, further heightening attention on the case.

With tensions still unresolved, uncertainty surrounds whether the funeral scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, will proceed as initially announced or face postponement.
