Stonebwoy, Wife Louisa Turn Family Name Into Ghanaian Rice Brand

Stonebwoy is quietly building a business portfolio that stretches well beyond the recording studio, with agriculture now part of the mix.

The famous Ghanaian artiste has disclosed that he co-owns a rice production and distribution company based in Ghana, a venture many of his fans are only just discovering. The brand, known as Lilo Rice, focuses on packaged locally produced rice for the Ghanaian market.

“Of course, I sell rice,” Stonebwoy revealed during an interview with US-based media personality Shirley Ju.

He explained that the enterprise has largely operated outside the spotlight despite being an active part of his work. “A lot of people don’t know but that’s one of the things that I do. Packaged Ghana rice and distributed,” he added.

The name Lilo Rice carries personal significance for the artiste. It is drawn from the first two letters of his given name, Livingstone, and those of his wife, Louisa.

Although the company has been in existence for some time, Stonebwoy has deliberately kept it low profile. The brand has, however, featured in several of his social responsibility initiatives, supplying rice for community-focused projects without much public attention.

The move reflects Stonebwoy’s broader interest in diversifying his career beyond music, with agribusiness joining a growing list of pursuits he continues to explore.

Alongside his commercial ventures, the award-winning musician also runs the Livingstone Foundation, a charity organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable and underprivileged members of society.
