Ghanaian content creator Berthold Kobina Winkler Ackon, widely known as Wode Maya, has shared an emotional account of how his family’s long wait for a child finally led to a breakthrough in 2025, when his wife, Miss Trudy, became pregnant after years of setbacks.
The YouTuber opened up about the private struggles that shaped their marriage, revealing that the possibility of not having children was something he confronted even before proposing. In a reflective Facebook post, Wode Maya traced the key moments that defined their difficult journey to parenthood.
According to him, medical advice received in September 2021 suggested that conceiving would be extremely difficult. Despite that reality, he said his decision to marry Miss Trudy remained unchanged. He proposed just months later, in December 2021, and the couple went on to tie the knot in September 2022. “September 2022— we got married, on the same day she lost her mother 13 years earlier.”
Marriage did not ease the path ahead. Wode Maya disclosed that the years that followed were marked by repeated pregnancy losses, a period he described as deeply painful for both of them. “After 6 heartbreaking miscarriages over the years, in 2025 we became pregnant again.”
Reflecting on the experience, Wode Maya tagged their story as one defined by endurance and belief, crediting their faith for carrying them through the darkest moments. “Through every challenge, every loss, and every tear, our journey is a testimony of resilience, faith, and hope. God is the greatest.”
