Ghanaian actor and football administrator Yaw Dabo has initiated legal proceedings against fellow actor Oboy Siki following remarks he believes crossed the line into defamation.
The dispute traces back to a football match organised in Yaw Dabo’s hometown, an event that drew several actors and public figures. Accounts from those familiar with the matter indicate that tensions flared during the game after the two men reportedly clashed over financial issues connected to the match.
After the event, Oboy Siki returned to Kumasi and later appeared in an interview with GhPage. During the interview, he allegedly made a series of disparaging statements directed at Yaw Dabo.
Among the claims attributed to Oboy Siki was an assertion that Yaw Dabo is incapable of impregnating a woman. He also reportedly described him as selfish and unfit for marriage. The remarks subsequently circulated widely on social media platforms.
Sources close to Yaw Dabo say the comments caused significant distress and disappointment, leading his management team to pursue legal redress. A lawsuit has since been filed against Oboy Siki on grounds of defamation of character.
Yaw Dabo, who is the plaintiff in the case, has formally issued a letter confirming that legal action has been taken against his colleague.
