“It Sometimes Embarrasses Me” – Obrafour on Sarkodie’s Respect

Obrafour and Sarkodie

Veteran Ghanaian rapper Obrafour has opened up about his bond with Sarkodie, offering a rare glimpse into how he views the respect the younger star continues to show him.

Speaking in a TikTok video, Obrafour said he often feels uneasy when Sarkodie publicly credits him for shaping his musical journey. While he acknowledges his early influence, he insists the admiration sometimes goes too far.

Obrafour described Sarkodie as one of the industry’s most powerful brands and recalled his role in the rapper’s formative years, especially through their collaboration on “Saa Okodie No.” Even so, he believes Sarkodie’s gestures of deference are undeserved.

“Sarkodie is huge but anytime he sees me and wants to kneel before me, it sometimes embarrasses me. I ask myself, who am I for Sarkodie to lie on the floor for me?” he said.

The rap icon stressed that any respect directed at him should instead be given to God, whom he credits as the true source behind Sarkodie’s rise.

Reflecting on their first encounter, Obrafour said he had already seen the potential Sarkodie carried and believes divine guidance, not personal intervention, made the difference.

“If I had it my way, I would channel that respect to the Maker. When I first met him, I told him who he was and what God was going to do with him,” he further stated.
