Haruna Iddrisu and Mohammed Sukparu survive accident on Bolgatanga-Tumu Road

Ministers Haruna Iddrisu and Mohammed Adams Sukparu are stable after a convoy crash on the Bolgatanga-Tumu Road in the Upper West Region.

Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology Mohammed Adams Sukparu are stable after a road accident on the Bolgatanga-Tumu Road on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

The ministers were travelling with their teams to official engagements in the Upper West Region when the crash occurred. They were en route to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.

Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Education Minister, confirmed in a statement that all members of the convoy are receiving medical care and remain in stable condition.

The statement did not disclose the specifics of the accident or the severity of any injuries.

“The Office expresses its appreciation to emergency responders, health professionals, and members of the public for their swift assistance and concern,” the statement said. It also noted that further updates will be provided as needed.
