Showboy Returns to Custody After Court Postponement Amid Blackmail Claims

Showboy

The Adenta Circuit Court has postponed the ongoing trial of Ghanaian artiste and socialite Showboy after he arrived late for his hearing on February 12, 2026.

GHOne TV online reports that the court has also directed that Showboy remain in custody for an additional two weeks while investigations proceed.

This appearance comes after Showboy’s arrest over allegations of blackmail and defamatory actions aimed at entrepreneur and music executive Davido GH (David Mensah).

Authorities say the case centers on claims that Showboy threatened to disclose sensitive information about Davido GH unless certain demands were met.

Tensions first erupted in January 2026 when CID officers attempted to apprehend Showboy at his home, a confrontation that quickly spread online.

Videos from the incident show Showboy questioning the legality of the arrest, insisting, “I need to see a warrant,” before complying with officers.

He was ultimately taken into custody on February 4 and appeared in court, where a psychiatric evaluation was ordered.

After being deemed mentally fit, Showboy returned to police supervision, where he remains as the legal proceedings continue.
