His Ghost Keeps Tormenting Us – Daddy Lumba’s Aunt Breaks Silence on Family Ordeal

Daddy Lumba

Grief within the family of highlife musician Daddy Lumba is deepening, as one of his aunts publicly lamented that relatives have been denied access to his body and left in the dark about his burial.

Speaking to journalists on February 17, 2026, Nana Afia Kobi accused the family head of shutting them out at a critical moment. According to her, close relatives have neither seen Lumba’s remains nor been informed about where he was laid to rest, a development she described as both humiliating and unprecedented.

“Abusuapanyin disappointed us, and it’s a big disgrace to us, the family. I’ve never seen or heard before that someone will die and we can’t see his body till date,” she said.

She indicated that the lack of clarity has taken a psychological toll on some members of the family, who are still struggling to process the loss under such circumstances.

“We are really suffering. When you’re sleeping, he would just be on you. His ghost keeps tormenting us. We are pleading to everyone to put us into prayers,” she stated.

Beyond the emotional strain, she acknowledged widening cracks within the extended family. Differing views on how matters have been handled have reportedly created factions, with some relatives satisfied and others deeply aggrieved.

“There’s a lot going on and everyone has something to say. For us, we are behind the truth. Since the family is divided, some are happy and others too are sad,” she shared.

Despite her personal commitments, she said she felt compelled to step forward out of loyalty and affection for the family. She also extended gratitude to members of the public who have shown support during the ordeal.

“I’m a busy person, but I’m here because of the love I have for the family. Some of you are not family members, but we’ve seen the love you’ve been showing us and we appreciate you all,” she said.

She concluded by insisting that the search for answers is far from over and that the family will persist in seeking clarity.

“We will try as much as we can no matter what, to find Daddy Lumba’s body,” Nana Afia Kobi further stated.
