Counsellor Lutterodt Reportedly Arrested Over Daddy Lumba Burial Claims, Granted Bail

Counsellor Lutterodt and Daddy Lumba

Controversial Ghanaian marriage counsellor Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, widely known as Counsellor Lutterodt, has reportedly been picked up by the Ghana Police Service after remarks he made during a live radio programme sparked outrage and raised concerns about public safety.

The incident is linked to comments he made over the weekend on Power FM during a discussion about Ghanaian highlife artiste Daddy Lumba. The conversation took a dramatic turn when Lutterodt allegedly urged some Ga youth to head to the musician’s East Legon residence with pickaxes to dig the compound and confirm rumours claiming Daddy Lumba had secretly been buried inside his own home.

Authorities believe the remarks could fall under incitement to violence as outlined in the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). The statements have also reportedly been flagged as offensive conduct capable of causing a breach of the peace under Section 207 of the same law.

Reports indicate that Counsellor Lutterodt was taken into custody and held at the Nima Police Station shortly after the controversy erupted. He has since been granted bail.

He is expected to appear before the Adenta Circuit Court on Tuesday to answer charges connected to the alleged incitement.

As of now, the Ghana Police Service has not officially confirmed the arrest or the reported bail conditions, although images circulating on social media appear to show the outspoken counsellor in handcuffs.
