“A Chunk of It Is Politics and Division” – Black Sherif Exposes Music Industry Dynamics

Black Sherif

Black Sherif has offered a more sobering view of the music business, saying the reality he now faces is nothing like the picture he had in mind before stepping into it.

He said he once viewed the industry through an almost idealistic lens, believing it was “a fantasy world.”

“What I knew about what I thought the music industry was before I entered is so different from what I see now. Before I entered, I thought it was a fantasy world,” the Ghanaian artiste told Kafui Dey in a recent interview.

Now fully immersed in the space, Black Sherif says his outlook has shifted, pointing to internal politics and division as some of the dominant forces shaping how things operate behind the scenes.

Black Sherif further explained that he has deliberately chosen not to get entangled in such dynamics.

“A chunk of it is politics and division. Before my soul could even find the words to describe the effect of division, I was repelling it. I never want to be part of any of the division conversations,” he stated.
