King Promise Predicts More Artiste of the Year Wins, Hints at Major New Project

King Promise

Ghanaian artiste and current Artiste of the Year, King Promise, has voiced firm confidence that he is still very much in contention to dominate Ghana’s top music honours for years to come.

In a recent interview on 3FM, the award-winning singer addressed his recent absence from major award conversations, explaining that it was tied to a period of limited releases rather than a decline in form.

“I hadn’t released anything recently, so I wasn’t going for any nominations or whatsoever. When the new project comes, everyone is going to see it,” he said.

He added that much of his time has been invested in preparing a major body of work that is yet to be fully unveiled, hinting at a strong return to the spotlight.

“I’ve been working on a project that we have out now, at a point in time, it was my main focus, but I’ve been working on something crazy that’s coming out soon,” he stated.

The singer, who also reflected on his journey and industry relationships, once noted in a separate remark that “Mr Eazi and I once went two years without talking to each other – King Promise”.

Beyond his upcoming releases, King Promise stressed that his creative process is not influenced by awards or external expectations, but by genuine artistic expression.

“For me, music can’t be overly calculated. It has to come from somewhere that’s really special. I’m not making music for awards,” he shared.

He further clarified that while he values recognition, it is not the driving force behind his output.

“It’s not because I’ve won an award, so I have to go make music by all means. I appreciate the awards, I cherish it but whatever comes for you to see me worthy of these awards has to be special.”

Closing with a confident outlook, King Promise said he believes his upcoming work will keep him firmly in the conversation for the industry’s highest accolade.

“I don’t think there will be a case where I won’t win Artiste of the Year ever again. I do believe that with what I have coming, I could be the Artiste of the Year again and again,” he added.
