Ghanaian actress and producer Kisa Gbekle says she is deliberate about who she allows herself to admire, insisting she avoids emotional distractions that have no real-world prospects.
In a recent interview with Nana Romeo on Atuu, she opened up about her approach to relationships, explaining that while she may appreciate certain high-profile figures, she draws a firm line when it comes to developing feelings for them.
“I don’t crush on men I cannot have. There are a lot of men I feel I can’t have,” she said.
Kisa pointed to global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo as an example of someone she admires from afar but considers completely out of reach.
“The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, how will I meet him? It’s impossible for me to be with such a man,” she stated.
She stressed that admiration does not automatically translate into emotional investment, especially when she believes there is no realistic path to a relationship.
“I like some of the top footballers so much, but I’m not crushing on them. I know they’re not people I can have, so I won’t even waste my time.”
Beyond that, the actress revealed that her social media inbox often attracts attention from notable figures, including well-known entertainers.
“So many celebrities send me a DM, and I get amazed sometimes. Some of them say they would love to meet me, I’m looking good.
“Some of them are top musicians from both Ghana and Nigeria, but I’m not interested in any of them. Also, a lot of Ghanaian musicians have approached me before and I’ve dated one of them,” Gbekle further stated.
