Amerado Addresses TGMA Snub in Hard-Hitting New Rap Song

Amerado

Ghanaian rapper Amerado has vented his disappointment over being snubbed in the Best Rap Performance category at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, using a newly released rap song to air his frustrations.

In the emotionally driven track, the rapper speaks candidly about what he sees as years of being underrated despite his consistency and range as an artiste. He argued that his ability to seamlessly switch between rap and singing has not been fully recognised within the Ghanaian music space, insisting that artistes with multiple talents are often overlooked.

Reflecting on his rise in the industry, Amerado recalled the momentum he enjoyed in 2020, a period when he worked alongside names like Lasmid and Black Sherif. According to him, even during that successful phase, critics still questioned his staying power and suggested he could not truly succeed unless he relocated abroad.

The rapper noted that he has endured years of criticism, insults and public backlash but remained committed to his craft through it all. Still, he believes the recognition he deserves has yet to match the effort he has invested in his career.

Amerado also touched on this year’s TGMA results, expressing disappointment that Medikal missed out on the highly coveted Artiste of the Year award.

Despite the frustrations expressed throughout the song, the rapper insisted that “it is all good.”

He ended the track with a strong declaration of intent, promising a comeback in 2027 and setting his sights firmly on winning the Best Rap Performance award, which was claimed this year by Strongman.
