Ghanaian rapper Medikal has brushed aside the online chatter surrounding a viral moment involving his former wife, Fella Makafui, during this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
Videos circulating on social media captured Fella Makafui enthusiastically dancing while Medikal performed on stage at the awards show, triggering widespread reactions because of the pair’s highly publicised past relationship.
Speaking during an interview with Nana Romeo on OK FM, Medikal made it clear he saw nothing deeper in the moment beyond pure entertainment.
When asked about the viral video, the rapper said he was simply pleased to see people enjoying his music, stressing that making audiences happy remains one of his biggest motivations as a performer.
According to him, watching Fella Makafui dance to his song was enjoyable to see and did not carry any emotional weight.
“It is entertainment,” Medikal said repeatedly while explaining his reaction to the moment.
“I mean its entertainment, I’m glad am able to make someone happy through my music. I am always happy when people jam to my songs to for her to get up and jam to it, it was nice,” he said.
Medikal also pointed to the energy of his performance at the TGMAs, saying the atmosphere naturally encouraged people to dance and have fun.
Although the video sparked mixed opinions online, the rapper appeared unfazed by the conversations, maintaining that the focus should remain on the music and the excitement of the performance.
