Arsenal End 22-Year Wait as Gunners Clinch Premier League Title

Arsenal - winners of 2025/2026 English Premier League

After years of falling just short, Arsenal have finally reclaimed the Premier League crown, ending a 22-year wait for English football’s biggest domestic prize.

The North London side officially secured the title on Tuesday night after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Bournemouth, confirming Arsenal as champions with games still to spare.

For much of the campaign, Arsenal looked like the team to beat, spending long stretches at the summit of the table. Their grip on first place appeared under serious threat in April when City piled on the pressure and a 2-1 loss at the Etihad shifted momentum towards Pep Guardiola’s side.

But Mikel Arteta and his squad responded strongly in the closing weeks, regaining control of the race and holding firm to deliver the club’s first league triumph since the legendary Invincibles side of the 2003/04 season.

The achievement also brings an end to Arsenal’s six-year trophy drought and marks Arteta’s second major piece of silverware since taking charge at the Emirates Stadium.

The season could yet become even more historic for the Gunners, who are still chasing a first-ever UEFA Champions League title.

Arsenal will face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in the Champions League final in Budapest on Saturday, May 30, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm.
