Actress Benedicta Gafah has publicly challenged claims made by Bishop Daniel Obinim, insisting that the narrative he recently shared about their communication is far from the truth.
The actress’ response follows comments by the founder of the International God’s Way Church during discussions about the controversy surrounding his marriage. In his remarks, Obinim alleged that he blocked Benedicta Gafah after reports surfaced of an alleged social media feud between her and his wife.
He explained that he was displeased with the public attention and online exchanges linked to the matter, prompting his decision to cut ties.
But Benedicta has offered a sharply different account.
In a social media post, the actress dismissed Obinim’s claims as false, maintaining that she was the one who ended all communication between them.
She further accused the controversial preacher of misrepresenting the facts and questioned why her name was brought into the discussion in the first place.
“Standing on a platform and confidently claiming that you blocked me, when the reality is that I blocked you because you kept trying to contact me and I chose not to engage, is simply dishonest. More importantly, was it even necessary to mention my name?
“At this point, it feels like I’m being pushed to release certain audios and conversations into the public domain just so people can understand the truth. The irony is that I have consistently stayed in my lane, minded my business, and chosen silence over unnecessary drama,” she said.
Benedicta also expressed frustration over what she described as a long-running pattern of being dragged into matters unrelated to her. She urged Obinim and others to stop associating her name with controversies she says have no connection to her life.
According to the actress, she has endured years of speculation and recurring rumours and would prefer to be left out of such conversations.
“Sometimes I genuinely wonder if critical thinking has become so rare. Why is my name constantly being attached to people I’m not even close to? It has been almost a decade of the same recycled narrative, and honestly, can my name finally be allowed to rest?” she added.
Addressing her personal life, Benedicta revealed that she is currently committed to a serious relationship and has already introduced her partner to her family.
She argued that despite moving on with her life, people continue to attach her name to stories and allegations that she believes are entirely baseless.
“I have my own relationship, and I have even introduced my partner to my family. Yet somehow, every single time, my name still finds its way into stories that have absolutely nothing to do with me.
“It is not only annoying, but it is also disrespectful, unfair, and quite frankly, disgusting. People continue to spread and entertain false narratives without taking a moment to think for themselves,” Benedicta Gafah further stated.
