Kumawood actress Louisa Adinkra has sparked debate with her candid views on infidelity, saying she would not necessarily take issue with a partner cheating on her if he continues to treat her with respect.
Louisa shared her perspective while commenting on the controversy surrounding Kumawood actor Oteele’s leaked intimate video, which has generated widespread reactions online and reportedly left his wife deeply upset.
The actress explained that she does not expect a man who professes his love for her to remain exclusively faithful throughout their relationship. For her, honesty about the realities of relationships matters less than the respect a partner shows her.
In a video, Louisa said she would be willing to overlook infidelity if it happened without her knowledge, provided her partner continued to respect her.
“It’s something I have in my mind. When someone says they love me, I know that, no matter what, he may cheat. I shouldn’t deceive myself into thinking I will be the only woman in his life. Where should all the other women go to? If you respect me and you cheat on me without my knowledge, I’m okay with that. Just respect me, because respect is very important,” she said.
She also appealed to Oteele’s wife to consider forgiveness rather than allow the incident to destroy their marriage.
Louisa questioned what fundamentally changes in a marriage when a man becomes unfaithful but eventually returns home, arguing that the couple should focus on restoring peace.
“When the man goes out to cheat and comes back, has his ‘thing’ reduced? No, it hasn’t. So she should forgive him, allow him to come back home, and let peace reign,” she noted.
Beyond the question of infidelity, Louisa expressed concern about the circumstances surrounding the leaked video. She questioned why people choose to record intimate encounters in the first place, particularly given the possibility that such recordings could eventually become public.
She further criticised Oteele’s wife for addressing the matter publicly on social media, saying the dispute would have been better handled away from the public eye.
“I don’t even understand why people record their intimate moments. Mrs Oteele, forgive your husband and let peace reign. Welcome him back home. I think you acted too quickly. Even going live on social media was unnecessary,” she said.
For Louisa, however, the most disturbing aspect of the video was not the alleged infidelity itself but the presence of a child during the intimate encounter.
She said the sight of the child entering the room while the adults were together was particularly troubling and stressed that parents have a responsibility to shield children from such situations.
“What really pained me about the video was seeing the child come into the room while the two adults were being intimate. I am a mother, and there is no way I would be in a room with a man and allow my little child to walk in and see us in that situation. I would feel ashamed,” Louisa Adinkra further stated.
