Cina Soul Fears for Her Life After Big Akwes’ Chilling TV Threat Sparks Outrage

Ghanaian musician Cina Soul, born Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome, has raised serious alarm over her personal safety after Kumawood actor Big Akwes made what she described as a deeply threatening and graphic statement on live television.

The disturbing incident happened during a segment of Kiss–Marry–Kill on Bryt TV, where Big Akwes selected Cina Soul as his “kill” choice. He did not stop at that. He went on to describe, in horrifying detail, how he would lure her through a spiritual mirror, stab her multiple times, and drink her blood.

In the aftermath, Cina Soul took to her official X account (formerly Twitter) to condemn the remarks and appeal for protection. She tagged the Ghana Police Service, the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, and MP Sam George in her plea for urgent intervention.

“@GhPoliceService I’m deeply unsettled by this. I initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because I do not wish to be associated with this individual, but at this point I feel genuinely threatened,” she posted. “@samgeorgegh @mocghana I may not know the proper channels to report this, but it’s critical we take a firm stance against this kind of dangerous rhetoric being broadcast on our TV and radio platforms. We must not normalise hate.”

Her remarks sparked a firestorm online, with many calling for an investigation into both Big Akwes and Bryt TV for allowing such content to air unfiltered. The incident has intensified public discourse about media accountability and the need to draw clear boundaries between entertainment and verbal abuse.

This is not the first time that the Ghanaian singer has been subjected to Big Akwes’s hostility. In April 2025, he courted controversy by body-shaming her in a segment aired on Max TV, where he mocked her wardrobe and accused her of “attention-seeking” in a dance video promoting her Did I Lie? album.

Following that episode, Max TV issued an apology acknowledging the inappropriateness of the comments. Big Akwes, however, doubled down, refusing to apologise and encouraging viewers to “re-analyse” his statements.
