Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has handed recalls to Mohammed Kudus and several other familiar faces as he names a 24-man Black Stars squad for a busy international schedule later this month.
The squad combines players who featured at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States with two new faces and a number of players returning to the national team after lengthy absences.
Kudus is among the biggest names back in the squad after missing Ghana’s World Cup campaign through injury. The West Ham United star has now recovered from the setback that kept him out of action for seven months and is set to rejoin the Black Stars.
Brighton and Hove Albion winger Ibrahim Osman has also earned a return, while Sassuolo midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana is back in the fold as Queiroz prepares his team for three matches in the space of 10 days.
There is also a recall for France-based defender Nathaniel Adjei, who returns to the national setup after almost a year away. His recent performances for Lorient in the French Ligue 1 have earned him another opportunity with the Black Stars.
Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare retains his place in the squad, with Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Anang completing the goalkeeping options.
Queiroz has also rewarded two players for their club form by handing call-ups to Jan Gyamerah of SV Elversberg and Ronald Donkor of New York Red Bulls.
The pair have impressed with their respective clubs and will now have the opportunity to stake their claim at international level.
Ghana’s upcoming assignments will begin with a difficult away encounter against Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday, September 24, in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Black Stars will then return home to face The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, September 29, before ending the international window with a friendly against Morocco.
That final fixture is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026, in Morocco, where Ghana will take on the Atlas Lions.
The three matches will give Queiroz an opportunity to assess his options following the World Cup while also preparing the team for the next stage of the Black Stars’ competitive campaign.
