Ghanaian gospel musician Piesie Esther has spoken warmly about her marriage, revealing how her husband, Enock Asiedu, has become an important pillar of support in her music career and family life.
The gospel singer made the revelation during an interview with Abena Kyei Boakye on UTV, where she reflected on the impact of marriage and the role her husband has played in her ministry.
According to Piesie Esther, she considers herself blessed to have a husband who understands her calling and actively supports the work she does as a gospel musician.
“Marriage has been a blessing to me, to my ministry, and to my family. God has blessed me. God has blessed me with a helpful and supportive husband—a man of God who understands the calling of God,” she said.
Piesie Esther also recalled an interesting detail about her husband’s attitude towards female musicians before they got married.
She said he once told her that he did not like songs composed by women. However, his position has changed significantly over the years, with the musician now receiving his full support.
“Before we got married, my husband said he didn’t like songs composed by women, but the tables have now turned. It has truly been a blessing,” she recounted.
The singer went on to describe the extent to which her husband gets involved whenever she has a major project coming up.
While she may be able to rest, she said her husband often stays awake to ensure that everything connected to the project is in order.
“My husband doesn’t sleep when we have a project ahead. I can sleep and snore, but he will still be up, making sure everything is in order. Let me cut it short: it has been a blessing,” she stated.
Piesie Esther also touched on the subject of submission in marriage, encouraging women to pray for the grace to remain submissive regardless of their professional position or achievements.
She stressed that respect remains important to her relationship and said she would not resort to shouting at her husband during disagreements.
“It is necessary to pray to God to help you become a submissive woman, even if you hold a higher position. I respect my husband very much. I can never shout at my husband,” she said.
However, she acknowledged that disagreements are part of married life. She explained that although she and her husband sometimes become angry with each other, they make an effort to resolve their differences rather than allow them to linger.
“Sometimes, we argue and become angry, but thanks be to God, we always settle our differences and arrive at the same understanding,” she added.
Piesie Esther also offered a more personal glimpse into the relationship by revealing some of the names she uses when addressing her husband.
“I call him my lord, honey, Kofi, and Honourable,” she disclosed.
