‘They Cannot Stop Me From Loving Stonebwoy’ – Shatta Wale Declares At ShattaFest

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy

Shatta Wale has made a fresh show of admiration for Stonebwoy, telling thousands of fans at ShattaFest in Ho that no one can stop him from supporting his fellow Dancehall star.

The moment came during the 2026 edition of ShattaFest at the Youth Resource Centre in the Volta Regional capital on Saturday, October 3, when Shatta Wale addressed the long-running perception of rivalry between the two musicians.

Speaking from the stage, the ‘Freedom’ hitmaker insisted that outside narratives would not determine how he feels about Stonebwoy or his work.

He told the crowd that he does not consider anyone his enemy and has no interest in engaging in unnecessary fights, explaining that he surrendered his life to God a long time ago.

“They cannot stop me from loving Stonebwoy. They cannot stop me from supporting what Stonebwoy does. Everything somebody tells you in Volta, that be fucking. I don’t have any enemies. I’ve given my life to God a long time ago. I don’t want to fight anybody,” he said.

Shatta Wale’s declaration was followed by an even more striking moment.

His DJ played Stonebwoy’s 2020 hit, “Putuu Freestyle (Pray),” immediately after the comments, with Shatta Wale joining in and performing along to the song on stage.

The decision to play and perform to Stonebwoy’s song added a visual dimension to Shatta Wale’s message, particularly given the years of public attention surrounding the relationship between the two Dancehall heavyweights.

Shatta Wale has previously maintained that public perceptions of tension between artistes do not always reflect what happens away from the cameras. His comments in Ho appeared aimed at making that position clear once again.

ShattaFest has grown into an annual music celebration and one of Ghana’s major outdoor entertainment events, following the strong reception of the 2025 edition.

The 2026 celebration in the Volta Region brought together several Ghanaian performers, with local star Chief One joining the line-up to support Shatta Wale.

Dance groups DGL Academy and DWP Academy also took part in the event, adding dance performances to an evening that was largely centered on music and Shatta Wale’s connection with his fans.
