Ghanaian lawyer William Kusi, who represented Akosua Serwaa in the legal dispute surrounding the estate and marital affairs of the late highlife musician Daddy Lumba, has died.
Kusi reportedly passed away in Germany after suffering a heart attack. He was the Managing Partner of Dominion Chambers, a law firm based in Adum, Kumasi.
The lawyer became a familiar figure in Ghana’s public discourse following his involvement in the highly publicised legal battle between Daddy Lumba’s two wives, Akosua Serwaa and Odo Broni.
His representation of Akosua Serwaa attracted considerable attention, particularly on social media, where his contributions to the case generated widespread interest.
The Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Ashanti Region, confirmed his passing in a statement issued by its secretary, Shadrack Obeng-Yeboah.
“With a heavy heart and deep sorrow, I announce the death of our member, William Kusi, Esq., Managing Partner of Dominion Chambers, Adum-Kumasi,” the statement read.
Following the announcement, the regional association called on members of the legal fraternity to offer support to Kusi’s bereaved family and colleagues at Dominion Chambers as they come to terms with the loss.
The association also urged members to reach out to the family and staff of the law firm to express their condolences during this difficult period.
