Ministry of Education Denies Allegations of Owing Organisations

Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education has refuted allegations that it owes organizations under the Free SHS program 6 billion cedis.

Earlier, the Minority in Parliament claimed that organizations providing various services under the Free SHS program are owed this amount.

However, speaking to the media, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng, denied the Minority’s assertion.

Mr. Kwarteng said, “Let me quickly clarify that the claim by the Minority in Parliament that the Ministry owes over 6 billion Ghana Cedis is not accurate. The Ministry would appreciate more clarification and details on the source of these figures.”

He disclosed that, “According to our records, we do not have such representations, even in terms of the outstanding arrears owed to our vendors, organizations, and individuals we work with.”
