Ghanaian music producer, David Kojo Kyei, well-known as Kaywa, has reflected on his final converstaion with Highlife icon Daddy Lumba, saying the late legend’s words now seem like a farewell rooted in foresight.

Speaking to Adom FM just hours after news of Lumba’s death broke on July 26, 2025, Kaywa described their last conversation as deeply emotional and laced with meaning he couldn’t fully grasp at the time.

“To be honest, there is little I can say about this because during this period, a lot of things cannot come out. Privacy is very important. He shared some very deep and important things with me,” Kaywa shared, choosing not to disclose specifics.

Identifying himself as spiritually inclined, Kaywa said he understood the unspoken weight of the message Lumba delivered.

“I am a spiritual person, so I understood what he was saying during our conversation. I may not be able to disclose the details now, but he spoke like someone who knew what was about to happen.”

Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, died at age 60 in the early hours of July 26, 2025, after a short illness. His death has prompted an outpouring of grief across Ghana’s music industry and beyond.
