Ghanaian media Oheneni Adazoa has spoken out after a plantain chips vendor allegedly targeted her with comments about her inability to have children, a remark that has since stirred reactions online.
In a video posted on X, the outspoken media figure addressed the trader directly. The seller had reportedly labeled her infertile and suggested that her claims about vendors melting rubber into frying oil were motivated by the fact that she does not have children of her own.
Oheneni dismissed that assertion, insisting she would not be intimidated into silence while raising concerns about food safety. She maintained that the absence of children in her life does not strip her of the right to question practices she believes could put families at risk.
“If I don’t have a child, I still have a voice, so I will speak when things are going wrong. Some of them claim they use this business to take care of their children, so should a parent buy the plantain for their child to die?
“Some of you also say you don’t use rubber but use colouring instead. Is that any better? I know I don’t have a child, but that doesn’t make me a lesser human,” she said.
She further revealed that the insults have weighed heavily on her.
“The young lady on social media is insulting me because I don’t have a child, saying that is why I am doing all this. May God forgive you. God will judge all of us according to our deeds. I am hurt this morning,” Oheneni Adazoa further stated.
