Public attention around media personality and former Guinness World Record contender Afua Asantewaa has intensified after renewed discussion of her marriage status following her disclosure that she is currently separated from her husband.
In a TikTok Live session on April 1, 2026, she clarified that although her marriage is under strain, she still possesses her wedding ring but has decided not to wear it for personal reasons she chose not to expand on publicly.
“I still have my wedding ring, but I won’t wear it because we are separated. And I’m not wearing it for so many reasons,” she said.
Addressing growing speculation that separation automatically meant divorce, she pushed back against that interpretation, making it clear the legal status of the marriage remains unchanged.
She also responded to claims suggesting she ended the marriage after relocating to Canada, insisting the move was a joint decision with her husband and questioning the narrative circulating online, asking, “So how did we divorce?”
Earlier, during a TikTok Live interaction with Prophet Fire Oja on March 31, 2026, she had already confirmed that the relationship is separated rather than dissolved, countering widespread speculation about a divorce.
She further reflected on her current emotional state, noting that she is in a period of recovery from marital difficulties.
“I am not divorced. We are separated for a good cause, and I am gradually healing. It is not a big deal,” Afua Asantewaa stated.
