Fidelity Bank Rewards Honest Customer With GH¢10,000 For Returning ATM Cash

Fidelity Bank has rewarded Emmanuel Appiah Boateng with GH¢10,000 after he returned GH¢4,000 found at an ATM in an act of honesty.

Fidelity Bank has honoured Emmanuel Appiah Boateng with a GH¢10,000 cash reward after he demonstrated what the institution described as exceptional honesty by returning money he found at one of its ATMs.

According to the bank, Boateng came across GH¢4,000 that had been left behind at an ATM. Rather than keep it, he quickly contacted the bank’s Customer Contact Centre to report the incident, enabling staff to trace the funds and return them to their rightful owner.

In a statement shared on social media on June 2, 2026, Fidelity Bank praised his conduct, saying “Fidelity Bank has rewarded Emmanuel Appiah Boateng with GH¢10,000 in recognition of an outstanding act of honesty and integrity,” the bank stated.

The institution explained that his prompt decision to alert them ensured the cash was properly accounted for and restored without delay. It also reiterated that Boateng’s response reflected a strong sense of responsibility in handling the situation.

“Mr Boateng found GH¢4,000 at one of the Bank’s ATMs and immediately contacted our Customer Contact Centre, ensuring that the money was returned to its rightful owner,” the statement said.

Fidelity Bank noted that his action goes beyond a simple good deed, describing it as a reminder of the importance of integrity in everyday interactions, especially at a time when ethical conduct remains a key public concern.

The bank also commended him for setting a standard worth emulating, stressing that such behaviour reinforces trust and accountability in both personal and wider social settings.

They further congratulated Boateng, adding that his decision stands as a clear example of how small but principled choices can make a meaningful impact.
