Nigel Gaisie Demands Retraction and Apology After ATV Presenter’s Defamation Allegations

Prophet Nigel Gaisie

Prophet Nigel Gaisie has taken legal steps against ATV media personality Kwaku Atta Boadu over comments he allegedly made on television, which the preacher says damaged his reputation.

A legal notice issued on July 6, 2026, and signed by Prophet Gaisie’s lawyer, Peter Kwasi Nimo of Dosoo, Obeng-Ntim & Associates, accused the broadcaster of describing the founder of Prophetic Hill Chapel as “corrupt” and a “fake pastor” during an on-air discussion.

The legal representatives of the preacher maintain that the statements were false, unfair, and harmful to a reputation that had been built over years of dedication, service, and personal sacrifice.

In the notice, Prophet Gaisie is demanding a full retraction of the alleged defamatory remarks, as well as an unreserved apology from Kwaku Atta Boadu on the same television platform where the comments were allegedly made.

The letter further states that if the demand is not met within seven days after receipt of the notice, the preacher may pursue additional legal remedies.

The legal notice reads: “We act as lawyers for Prophet Nigel Gaisie and have their instructions to write to you as follows: Our client says you used your television, ATV, to defame him a day or two ago. You described him as corrupt and also a fake pastor, and that the words used are untrue, unfair, and injurious to his hard-won reputation.

“Our client says you referred to a prophecy he allegedly made on the participation of the Black Stars in the ongoing World Cup, which you further alleged he missed. Our client further says that you went further to attack him when he offered explanation for the prophecy.

“Our client says you have brought his reputation into disrepute by your action. It is our clients’ further instruction that you retract and unreservedly apologize to him, using the same media used to defame him. Our client says you are given SEVEN (7) days on receipt of this letter to act accordingly, or he will advise himself. We anticipate your maximum cooperation in this matter.”

After sharing the legal document online, Prophet Nigel Gaisie urged the public to be mindful of making claims that could negatively affect the image and credibility of others.

“Legal notice served. ATV/Kwaku Atta Boadu is officially notified to retract defamatory claims made against Prophet Nigel Gaisie. Truth has a voice, and lies have a deadline. N.B: Let all know this, it takes a lot to build; do not speak falsely against people’s hard work and sacrifices… PNG,” Prophet Gaisie wrote.
