“If Your Husband Shouldn’t Touch You, Who Should?” – Celestine Donkor’s Message Gets Ghanaians Talking

Ghanaian gospel singer Celestine Donkor has opened a conversation about intimacy in marriage. She urged wives to pay attention to their husbands’ needs and warning that repeated rejection could put strain on relationships.

The singer shared her views in a video posted on her social media pages, where she spoke about the role of physical connection between couples and the emotional impact she believes it can have on husbands.

According to Celestine Donkor, one of the most difficult moments for a married man is when he seeks intimacy from his wife but is turned away.

She explained that while tiredness or other personal challenges may affect a person’s willingness, consistently refusing a spouse’s advances could create feelings of disappointment and distance in a marriage.

“Dear married women, the most painful thing to happen to your husband is the man wanting to have sex with his wife and for the wife to say ‘I am tired’. It is so painful. The man would be angry the whole night because men are wired naturally to be awake and standing by 4am,” she said.

The gospel musician further argued that sexual desire is a natural part of marriage, stressing that husbands and wives should be able to communicate openly about intimacy rather than allow unresolved issues to affect their relationship.

She questioned where a husband should turn if he feels rejected by his own wife, insisting that intimacy remains an important part of the marital bond.

“It is so painful that someone that nature has not asked permission from to arouse him has come for his own wife and is being denied. If your husband shouldn’t touch you, who should he go and touch?” she asked.

Celestine Donkor also warned that a lack of sexual connection between couples could gradually create emotional gaps and weaken the foundation of a marriage.

She described the possibility of a marriage ending because of intimacy issues as a painful outcome, particularly when couples fail to address their challenges through understanding and communication.

“The saddest thing to happen to you is to have a broken marriage because of lack of sex. When God has generously blessed you with beauty and a special hole meant to be enjoyed by your husband,” Celestine stressed.

The musician encouraged wives to embrace intimacy as part of their commitment to their spouses, adding that affection and closeness can strengthen the relationship between couples.

She advised women to avoid repeatedly withholding intimacy from their husbands, warning that such actions could eventually lead to regret.

“Woman, be generous with your body to your own husband. If you don’t give it to your husband, who would you give it to? I promise you, if you keep being stingy with your body towards your own husband, one day you will regret it,” Celestine Donkor added.
