Bernard Oduro Takyi To Go As An Independent Parliamentary Candidate

Bernard Oduro Takyi, a disqualified aspirant in the upcoming NPP Parliamentary Primaries in the Sunyani West Constituency has indicated that he is going   as an independent candidate in the December 7 Elections.

Bernard Oduro Takyi popularly called B.O.T was to contest the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area who is also the Employment and Labour Relations Minister, Ignatius Baffour Awuah but was disqualified by the National Executive Committee.

Mr. Takyi noted that because he not been treated fairly he is lacing his boots to contest as an independent Parliamentary Candidate.

“I want to officially state that, considering the unfair treatment meted out to me by my own party, the research I have conducted and a consultation with my council of elders, team and supporters, I, Bernard Oduro Takyi, would contest as an independent candidate come December 7.”

He indicated that he would not accept any reconciliation after he was treated unfairly by the National Executive Committee.

He was disqualified during the vetting but he appealed to the National Parliamentary Appeal committee headed by Mr. Mac Manu but the decision was upheld.

The situation could affect the fortunes of the NPP in the Constituency in the December polls.
