Kafaba:Police In Savannah Region Yet To Arrest People Behind Killing Of 90-Year-Old Woman

The Savannah Regional Police Command is yet to arrest the perpetrators behind the killing of 90-year-old at Kafaba in the East Gonja Municipality.

Last week, a 90-year-old woman, Mariama Ama Denteh was lyched after a traditional priest accused her of being a witch.

However,the police are yet to arrest any of the perpetrators behind this crime. Police in Salaga has begun investigation into the incident.

Many groups have condemmed the act, a group has emerged on Social Media calling justice for the late woman.

The Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice(CHRAJ) on its Twitter page has since condemned the act.

“ CHRAJ Ghana wish to condemn in no uncertain terms the gruesome murder through lynching of the 90 year old woman at Kafaba in the East Gonja Municipality  of the Savannah Region. The Elderly deserve our love and protection.”

The woman whose body was initialy  deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital(TTH) has since been buried.

The Chief of Kafaba, Seidu Yahaya has also denied allegation in a section of the media that he invited the traditional priest into the community who accused the old woman of being a witch.
