Majority Leader In Parliament Begs Fomena MP

The Majority Leader in Ghana’s Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has apologised the expelled Fomena MP, Andrew Amoako Asiamah.

Andrews Asiamah, the incumbent NPP Member of Parliament for the Fomena Constituency in the Ashanti Region was expelled from the party in the run up to the December 7 elections for contesting as an independent parliamentary.

According to Andrew Amoako Asiamah indicated that he was treated unfairly when lost his bid to contest on the ticket of the NPP, this he indicated pushed him to contest as an independent candidate which he won.

Andrews Asiamah polled in the just-ended elections polled 12,805 to defeated the NPP candidate Philip Ofori-Asante who got 10,798 votes, the NDC candidate, Christina Ama Ranson had 2,608 votes.

Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has apologised to the MP elect for Fomena, Andrew Amoako Asiamah after his victory.

He noted that the party regrets how it treated the Fomena Member of Parliament.
