Asseseeso -Akuapem Township Thrown Into A State of Mourning After Farmer Commits Suicide

A farmer believed to be in his 40’s, Kudjo Awuah, has committed suicide on his farm at Asseseeso -Akuapem in the Okere District of the Eastern Region.

The Asseseeso township has been thrown into a state of mourning following the death of the farmer whom many described as respectful and hard working.

According to information available to First News, Kudjo Awuah went to farm on Friday January 22, 2021 but was later found to have committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree.

He was found hanging on the tree by a young boy who had gone to check his trap.

He has since been buried by personnel from the District Police Headquarters at Adukrom- Akuapem.

A native and resident of Asseseeso, Harrison Darko noted that they were surprised about the incident because the late farmer was hard working and they were not aware he had any problem.

The late farmer left behind a wife and four children. The police are yet to unravel what might have pushed the farmer to commit suicide.
