Yamfo: Man, 41 Commits Suicide

A 41-year-old Emmanuel Gyamfi believed to be a worker of Newmont Ahafo Gold Mining Limited has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his washroom at Yamfo in the Tano North Municipal of the Ahafo region.

Sources close to CFANews revealed that though the deceased works with Newmont Ahafo Gold Mining Limited but has been in the house for almost a year after he lost his sight.

The source alleged that his wife Boatemaa has been quarrelling with the him ever since he lost his sight which as a result the deceased Emmanuel Gyamfi attempted suicide twice but unsuccessful.

The report continued that before the sad incident occurred, the young couples who have been blessed with four children have been sleeping in different rooms.

Speaking to CFANews the Acting District Commander Yamfo, ASP Isaac Kwami Loh narrated around 7:00am on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 they had a report and rushed to the scene with his men only to see the deceased hanging dead in his washroom.

According to Mr Loh, Emmanuel Gyamfi tied himself with a sponge to the ceiling in his washroom in his own house at Ahenboboano in Yamfo where he lives with his wife.

ASP Loh added that their spot investigations revealed this morning the wife visited the washroom to ease herself only to find the husband hanging dead so they reported the case to the police and they went to the scene to pick the body.

Currently, the body has been deposited at Sunyani Government Hospital mortuary waiting for autopsy.
