When Is Krachi East Municipality Getting A New MCE?
The Krachi East Municipality in the Oti Region has been without a Municipal Chief Executive for eight months following the sudden death of its former MCE Francis Kofi Okesu in September 2022.
Following the death of the MCE and his burial the Oti Regional Minister Joshua Makubu has been in charge, and for eight months there is no substantive MCE.
The situation could retard development in the area if nothing is done about the situation. Eight months is enough for a new MCE to be appointed by President Akufo-Addo the subsequent confirmation of the appointed person.
As a concern citizen of the Municipality, I was to use this medium to appeal to the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development who is also the Member of Parliament for Okere in the Eastern Region, Dan Kwaku Botwe to remind the President that the Krachi East Municipality is without an MCE for eight months and needs one urgently to spear head development in the area.
