Family seeks justice as motor rider involved in the accident of Kofi Kinaata is reported dead
Lawrence Sey, a motorcyclist involved in the accident with Ghanaian artiste Kofi Kinaata, has been reported dead.
According to a report by GhanaWeb, Sey’s family blames Kofi Kinaata’s driver for causing the accident and is now seeking justice.
Eyewitnesses claim that the driver of Kofi Kinaata’s Land Cruiser V8 Prado veered into the oncoming lane, colliding with the motorbike. Allegedly, while attempting to overtake, the vehicle struck the motorcycle, dragging Sey into a nearby pit.
Tragically, Lawrence Sey was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, while his passenger, Andrews Ansah, a senior high school student, sustained serious injuries, including two broken legs, according to the report.
An eyewitness told Gossips 24: “The driver left his lane and overtook the motorcyclists. There were two motorbikes involved—Lawrence and his passenger Andrews were on the first.”
They added, “Lawrence was trapped under the car and dragged into a pit in the bushes. He died upon arrival at the hospital, while Andrews is currently receiving treatment at Afia Nkwanta Hospital.”
Another motorbike, possibly the first in line, was able to avoid the collision. Its rider sensed the danger, allowing his passengers to escape.
“The second motorbike had three passengers: the rider, a female, and a male passenger. Seeing what happened to Lawrence’s bike, the rider swerved, and the passengers jumped off,” the eyewitness further explained.
Meanwhile, Kofi Kinaata expressed his hope that no lives would be lost, narrating the events of the accident, which occurred on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
