Ghanaian Highlife musician Kofi Nti has announced that a copyright infringement issue involving American producer Tyler Perry has been resolved.

A few months ago, a behind-the-scenes video from Tyler Perry’s Sistas series surfaced online, featuring the song “Odo Nwom” by Kofi Nti and Ofori Amponsah. This led to questions about whether the musicians had been contacted for permission to use the song.

It was later revealed that they had not been informed before the song was used.

In a recent interview with Nana Adwoa Annan, Kofi Nti confirmed that the matter has now been settled. According to him, the resolution was reached after their lawyer in the United Kingdom contacted Tyler Perry’s team.

Kofi Nti, who created the song with Ofori Amponsah, did not disclose the settlement amount received for the copyright infringement.
