Supporting Kwadee isn’t just the music industry’s duty – Reggie Rockstone to critics

Veteran Ghanaian musician Reggie Rockstone has weighed in on the ongoing concerns surrounding Okomfour Kwadee’s well-being.

Kwadee, who has battled mental health issues for years, recently appeared in a viral video that left many fans worried. The footage, showing him performing shirtless, sparked widespread concern on social media. Many questioned why organizations like the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) had not stepped in to support him.

Amidst the criticism, Reggie Rockstone shared his perspective in an Instagram video, urging people to look beyond just blaming the music industry.

“I’ve seen the conversations online—people pointing fingers at the industry, saying it should do something for him. But that narrative is frustrating,” he said. “Yes, Kwadee is a fellow musician, but what about you, the public? The same people who are quick to criticize—what are you actually doing to help?”

Reggie emphasized that Kwadee’s contributions to music should not be forgotten and that true support should come from a place of humanity, not just industry responsibility.

“For years, this man gave you beautiful music. If anyone should feel deeply about his situation, it should be you, the fans,” he added.

He further stressed that Kwadee’s case requires a holistic approach rather than mere finger-pointing, calling for collective support to ensure his well-being.
