King Paluta explains why he deserves to win Artiste of the Year
Ghanaian artiste Thomas Adjei Wireko, popularly known as King Paluta, has explained why he believes he deserves the prestigious Artiste of the Year award.
Speaking on Neat FM, the ‘Makoma’ hitmaker addressed growing support for his win, including an endorsement from one of the industry veterans like Okyeame Kwame.
“I know I deserve Artiste of the Year because I put in the work,” he asserted. “I performed at over 115 shows, both locally and internationally, and featured on more than 40 songs. That puts me ahead.”
Paluta also highlighted his impact on the music scene, claiming his song Odo Bi Ye Bad was the first major hit of 2024, following his Best New Artiste win in 2023.
“2024 was my year. I traveled across Ghana, even to places with rough roads, just to perform for my fans. I know I did enough to earn this award,” he added.
Addressing rumors about his song Makoma being politically motivated, King Paluta clarified that it was not affiliated with any political party.
“We’ve started 2024 strong too. My Sisi Fia song was played by everyone, but some tried to frame it as being for a specific group. I didn’t even organize my own concert to avoid any misinterpretations,” he explained.
His statement comes ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, where he hopes to clinch the top honor.
