Nana Agradaa has addressed the controversy surrounding a viral video in which her husband is seen discarding a court summons, defending his actions and asserting that the legal notice was wrongly directed.
The video emerged shortly after Agradaa’s appearance at the Tema High Court on May 26, 2025. She is facing a GH¢20 million defamation lawsuit filed by gospel artist Empress Gifty, who alleges that defamatory comments made by Agradaa caused significant harm to her reputation.
In the footage, Agradaa and her husband are seen leaving the courthouse. Moments later, her husband is shown dropping the writ of summons to the ground, sparking widespread commentary online.
In response, Agradaa clarified that the document had been wrongly served to her husband, who is not a party to the legal proceedings. She insisted that he had informed court personnel of this fact and was therefore justified in discarding the summons.
Agradaa further criticized the attempt to involve her husband in a matter she views as exclusively hers, describing it as procedurally flawed. Addressing Empress Gifty and her spouse Hopeson Adorye directly, Nana Agradaa vowed to meet them in court, reiterating that she, not her husband, is the subject of the lawsuit.
