“I’m Focusing on Healing” – YOLO’s Drogba Finds Strength in Stillness

Ghanaian actor John Peasah, widely known as Drogba from YOLO television series fame, is embracing a path of recovery anchored in spiritual resolve and personal resilience. After months of battling a complex set of health challenges, the actor is choosing to focus inward, placing healing above headlines.

In a heartfelt Instagram story posted on June 16, 2025, Peasah opened up about his ongoing recovery, sharing signs of physical improvement and spiritual clarity.

“I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made by God. The physical discomfort was overwhelming at times, but the spiritual solace I found was profound,” he shared.

Peasah’s health journey began in March 2024 with a diagnosis of a demyelinating disease—a condition that disrupts the nervous system. Further complications included Sleep Apnea, a sleep disorder that affects breathing, and the rare Stiff Person Spectrum Disorder. To manage his symptoms, he relied on a CPAP machine and began intensive treatment.

A turning point came during an all-night church service in 2024, where Drogba of YOLO fame described experiencing spiritual relief. However, what should have been a private milestone was quickly overshadowed by online misinterpretations of his recovery.

“Who likes to trend and is in pain? I’d rather not dwell on the negativity. Instead, I’m focusing on my journey towards healing and wholeness, both physically and spiritually,” he stated, responding with clarity and grace to the backlash.

Rather than allowing the noise of public scrutiny to derail his progress, Drogba is doubling down on his commitment to recovery. With each passing day, he’s leaning more into faith and less into external expectations, carving out space to heal, grow, and rediscover his strength on his own terms.
