Selina Boateng Condemns BBL Trend, Citing Biblical Values

Ghanaian gospel singer - Selina Boateng

Gospel singer Selina Boateng has taken a firm stance against the growing trend of cosmetic surgery in Ghana’s celebrity circles, insisting that her faith leaves no room for such procedures.

In an interview with Bryt TV, the Medofo Pa singer addressed critics who have urged her to change her appearance because of her body size. Selina said she refuses to be swayed by such comments, choosing instead to focus on healthy living and regular exercise.

“BBL is against the will of God. I don’t know which part of the Bible said that Sarah had any body enhancement. And if we are going by the Bible, I don’t see anywhere that tells me to go have body altercations,” she asserted.

For Selina, the foundation of her beliefs comes from scripture, and she sees no biblical basis for altering one’s physical appearance purely for beauty. “Where in the Bible does it say Sarah or any woman of God changed their body?” she asked, doubling down on her opposition to body modifications.

Her comments add to a larger debate on cosmetic enhancements, particularly Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgeries, which have drawn both praise and criticism within Ghana’s entertainment industry.

Fellow artiste Wendy Shay has also voiced her opinion, noting that while she respects personal choices, she would never undergo the procedure herself. “It’s no offense to people who have BBL. If you want to have BBL, that’s your choice. But personally, I would have used that money to donate to people,” Wendy Shay said.
