Family Announces New Date for Dada KD’s Funeral

Dada KD dies

The family of Ghanaian highlife artiste, Dada KD, has once again shifted the timetable for his final farewell, unveiling a fresh date for the funeral after multiple delays.

The funeral, first planned for August 16 following a week of mourning, was later slated for September 6–7. Relatives now confirm the rites have been rescheduled.

In a press briefing, the family revealed that a state-supported service will be held on September 20, 2025, at Ghana’s State House. Once formalities conclude, the late musician’s body will be transported to his hometown of Agona-Asamang for burial.

Family members explained that the adjustment stems partly from the funeral ban issued by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, which affected many planned events across the region. They urged fans, well-wishers, and Ghanaians abroad to stand with them through the prolonged preparations.

Dada KD, celebrated for his timeless contributions to highlife music, died on May 16, 2025, after a short illness.
