Ghanaian musician Barosky has returned home after his difficult circumstances in the United Kingdom drew widespread public attention and prompted calls for assistance.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa confirmed that the Hiplife musician was repatriated to Ghana on Monday, September 7, 2026, with the government covering the cost of his return.
In a social media post on Tuesday, September 8, Ablakwa said Barosky was now safely back in the country and that the Foreign Ministry had stepped in as part of its consular responsibilities.
“I can confirm that we have repatriated Barosky, and he is safely back with us in Ghana. As part of our consular mandate, the Foreign Ministry fully sponsored his repatriation to Ghana last night,” he said.
Barosky’s situation had sparked concern after reports emerged about his living conditions in Manchester, with accounts describing him as homeless and struggling to cope.
The minister said the government’s assistance would not end with the musician’s arrival in Ghana. According to him, Barosky will receive psychosocial support as well as financial assistance to help him reintegrate into society.
“We are also providing psychosocial support and reintegration financial assistance. We are most grateful to our fellow citizens, particularly Nana Romeo, for bringing Barosky’s heart-wrenching plight in Manchester to our attention.
“I commend our High Commission in the UK for its impressive coordination,” he further stated.
