Stonebwoy Drops New Details About His Explosive 2020 Clash With Sarkodie’s Team

Stonebwoy

Stonebwoy has revisited the controversial incident that occurred at Sarkodie’s Black Love Concert in 2020, claiming that the rapper and his associates reported him to the police after a confrontation involving Sarkodie’s manager, Angel Town.

The dancehall musician made the claim during a TikTok Live session on September 8, 2026, as he reflected on his relationship with Sarkodie and recounted what he says happened on the night of the virtual concert at the Independence Square.

Stonebwoy said he made the trip from Togo to attend the event despite being ill because he wanted to show his support for Sarkodie. His experience at the venue, however, quickly turned sour.

According to him, he was left backstage for hours and felt disrespected by the way he was treated by the team organising the concert.

“I came all the way, I landed, I came there, the backstage, and you guys gave me the inhumane treatment. I am not blaming you directly for it, but it’s your name only. Y’all gave me the inhumane treatment ever. You humiliated me, kept me behind the stage,” he said.

Stonebwoy said he eventually slept backstage because of the long wait. When he woke up, he claimed he discovered that arrangements surrounding his appearance had changed, leaving him frustrated and angry.

His frustration, he said, eventually resulted in a confrontation with Angel Town.

Stonebwoy disputed claims that he intentionally slapped or assaulted Sarkodie’s manager, insisting that he had no reason to travel to the venue while sick if his intention was to create trouble.

“Then they told me, say I came to hit him, I came to slap him. All of those ones were on the side. That notwithstanding, if I had the intention to hit or slap or cause chaos, would I come there in the first place when I’m sick?” he asked.

Although he was informed that he would not perform, Stonebwoy said he refused to leave immediately and remained backstage until the concert came to an end.

He said staying at the venue was a reflection of the discipline he had been raised with, despite the frustration he was experiencing.

“I humbly stood there with the discipline and principle that I have in my heart as a boy grown well from home. Discipline, proper, proper. I stayed there at the backstage of the Independence Square the whole fucking night till you closed your show,” he stated.

The musician said he later decided to speak directly with Sarkodie in an attempt to settle the disagreement.

Stonebwoy maintained that he had not slapped Angel Town. However, he said he was informed that his hand had accidentally made contact with Angel’s eye during the confrontation.

Rather than prolong the dispute, Stonebwoy said he apologised.

“I decided to come and talk to you directly and say, yo, Killer, I no slap nobody. Boys dey hold boys, tempers flare. Boy said my hand entered ein eye. If my hand entered your eye, okay, cool. I’m here to apologise before I go. That’s what I did,” he recounted.

Stonebwoy, however, claimed that the incident took a more serious turn after his interaction with Sarkodie.

He alleged that Sarkodie and his associates reported the matter to the police, with the complaint centred on claims that he had injured Angel Town.

According to Stonebwoy, the allegations made during the investigation went beyond the alleged assault. He claimed that someone also told investigators that he had been carrying a knife and guns at the venue.

“Somebody came to say I was holding a knife and I was holding guns in the statement. So the investigator asked him, say, are you sure? If we go investigate where this boy no hold anything you said, we will arrest you,” he recounted in pidgin.

Stonebwoy said he eventually decided to apologise publicly over the incident, although he now considers that decision a mistake.

He claimed that his lawyer was particularly unhappy with him for taking responsibility publicly when, in his view, he had not deliberately caused the confrontation.

“Till today, my lawyer is angry at me for that move that I picked. Before they gonna realise, what did I do? I came online to come and apologise, rather as if I caused anything,” Stonebwoy further stated.
