“We Cannot Omit Accountability” – Stonebwoy Challenges Sarkodie Again

Stonebwoy

The public disagreement between Ghanaian music heavyweights Stonebwoy and Sarkodie has taken another turn, with Stonebwoy questioning the rapper’s position and insisting that unresolved issues cannot be addressed without accountability.

Stonebwoy returned to X on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with a lengthy response to Sarkodie, challenging several points raised by the rapper in their ongoing exchange.

The dancehall star appeared particularly unhappy with what he considers Sarkodie’s attitude towards their relationship, describing it as a “landlord mentality” and suggesting that the rapper cannot decide when or how he should express his grievances.

“ My bad I had to finish the break down..@sarkodie
feel free to kindly mention the names of the people who have disrespected you that I hang with.

In your landlord mentality you have conveniently believed that you address my feelings anytime I have one right? Cool,” Stonebwoy wrote.

He also questioned the suggestion that there was an obligation on his part to Sarkodie, pointing to the rapper’s own admission that he is often the one who initiates their phone conversations.

“What could you possibly owe me. When you’re the one who calls me as you have clearly indicated.. ( no man is an island we all need each other though),” he stated.

For Stonebwoy, however, the issue goes beyond who calls whom. He argued that he would have handled the situation differently if the circumstances were reversed, particularly where an apology was concerned.

“And if situations were reversed I wouldn’t dare be the one to call you without a sincere apology..”

Despite the tension, Stonebwoy stressed that their differences have never prevented them from working together professionally.

He cited their appearances at events as an example, arguing that he has never treated their personal relationship as a barrier to collaboration.

“Doing shows together has never been a problem irrespective of who called,” he wrote.

Stonebwoy recalled the most recent BHIMFEST at the stadium, explaining that Angel contacted him to inform him that Sarkodie and others wanted to attend.

“My last BHIMFEST at the stadium Angel called chief that y’all wanted to come through I didn’t disagree..”

He also reminded Sarkodie that there have been occasions when he deliberately praised and supported him publicly, even when there was little immediate benefit to doing so.

“There are videos that I have equally intentionally ‘bigged’ you up. When it didn’t even matter in the moment.”

That point appears important to Stonebwoy’s argument. He seems to be drawing a distinction between professional respect and personal reconciliation, suggesting that appearing together on stage or publicly acknowledging Sarkodie does not necessarily mean every underlying issue between them has been resolved.

He subsequently accused Sarkodie of attempting to frame his comments in a particular way, insisting that the rapper’s own past statements and videos can be examined.

“No need to twist your words, your videos are there to back your stance.”

Stonebwoy’s most pointed argument centred on accountability.

“WE cannot omit Accountability and Responsibility to the same issues that we seek to fix..”

The statement reflects what appears to be his broader concern with how disagreements between artistes are handled. For Stonebwoy, finding a solution requires both parties to acknowledge their respective roles rather than concentrating solely on the other person’s actions.

The latest exchange follows Stonebwoy’s revelation that Sarkodie reported him to the police after a confrontation at the Independence Square during the rapper’s virtual Black Love Concert in August 2020.

Stonebwoy disclosed the incident during a TikTok Live session on September 8, 2026, while recounting aspects of his relationship with Sarkodie.

The revelation revived public interest in the history between the two musicians and added another dimension to their current disagreement.

Sarkodie subsequently responded to Stonebwoy’s comments, disputing aspects of the dancehall musician’s account and offering his own explanation of their interactions.

Stonebwoy’s latest response suggests that he is not interested in allowing their professional collaborations to define the state of their personal relationship.

“I don’t need to fck with you. I’m straight 🙏 ‘pun intended’”

He then appeared to draw a line under his latest intervention, saying he had other matters requiring his attention.

“Now let me Go and Face ‘real life issues’”
